New Howard Rheingold book - recommended by John Patrick…
This is what has me really annoyed lately. Bill Moyers isn’t wearing the flag because he’s for America, he’s supporting our troops, or because he’s in favor of anything. He’s wearing the flag because he’s against the President. Too many people’s expression of their patriotism is to excercise their right to free speech and tell us all what’s wrong - too few of these people are doing something constructive to try to make things better.

Cameron Barrett’s Freedoms: A response to his Blog against America
As with any American citizen, Cameron Barrett has significant rights and freedoms:
He has the freedom to take extended vacations in Russia. This is a particularly hard-won freedom as we stood alone against a string of communist Soviet dictators in an epic, and sometimes dangerous power struggle lasting more than four decades. During this time we prevented the spread of the repressionist Soviet state and ultimtately freed the country’s citizens along with the nations who were effectively annexed by the Soviets at the end of WWII.
Another Cyblog candidate is Tim Bray’s access log. Imagine first blogging everything, then over time applying filters of ‘interesting’ entries, so that the signal-noise ratio got better and better over time.
